In the summer of 2002, two young men began their lives as pro-wrestlers upon going under the teachings of the country's #1 heavyweight star, Kazuma Fujita. In the coming years, Hiroaki Nakata and Tetsuhisa Nakagawa would set out to change the very thinking as to what pro-wrestling could be as part of Pro-Wrestling FURY. With humble roots, Pro-Wrestling FURY showcased the products of Fujita's "FUJITA FURY Gym" from its modest training facilities in Osaka. Nakata and Nakagawa, in addition to contemporary rival Toshinari "ZERO" Kubota would serve as the top stars for the promotion in its establishing years, garnering a long-lasting fan base in the Kansai area.
While starting out of their own training facilities, the promotion would reach great heights due to the efforts of the talented roster, in addition to co-promotional efforts from larger, more established promotions such as Burning Spirit Pro-Wrestling and Oita Pro-Wrestling, who lent a great deal of credibility to the growing company. The promotion also benefitted from having the exclusive branding of Japan's #1 pro-wrestler, Kazuma Fujita -- in addition to his occasional participation. Living Legends would even be lured out of retirement, such as Genji Yamato and Ryo Inoue. With all of these factors, Pro-Wrestling FURY would prominently exceeded the "developmental group" it was intended to be, drawing huge crowds from the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium (Now EDION Arena Osaka), Fukuoka International Center, the Ryogoku Kokugikan, and in a historic milestone -- the Kyocera Dome in 2009.
However, poor front office management in addition to a highly publicized tax evasion and embezzlement scandal involving company president Hiroshi Nishida hurt the company's public standing immensely. While surviving thanks to their large popularity, the bubble would eventually burst in 2012 when the company's debts began to grow. Nearing so close to a decade of operation, the company held on to promote one final card on October 25, 2012 to celebrate its 10th anniversary before the company closed its doors for good. The timing would coincide with many other groups ceasing activity across Japan including Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON and Pro-Wrestling DYNAMITE, leading to a dark period in Japanese Pro-Wrestling.
While many companies have tried to assert themselves and try to mend Japan, New FURY Pro-Wrestling was founded with a very different purpose. First, the company was founded to give their students a place to showcase their skills. Second, the company was additionally founded to continue the dream Pro-Wrestling FURY gave fans, as they showed the vibrant diversity Pro-Wrestling can provide. Third, the company was founded with the "Glocal" mindset. Glocal meaning operating as a local company, but thinking on a global scale. The New FURY Gym is partnered with Jonathan D. Collins and his "Hexagon Sun" school located in Chicago, Illinois.
